APEC Young Leaders, Businessmen to Meet in Hanoi in August
A forum for young leaders and businessmen from APEC countries will be held in Hanoi in August this year, Secretary of the Vietnamese Union’s Central Committee Doan Van Thai told reporters on January 3.
This is one of many activities that will be held in 2006 for young people in order to strengthen friendships and cooperation between Vietnam and foreign countries, Thai added. It also coincides with many other activities to be held in the country in the year relating to cooperation between APEC countries.
Thai also noted that young people’s international activities will give priority to further reinforcing relation with traditional friendship countries such as Laos, China, Cambodia, Cuba, North Korea and Former Soviet Union countries.
In 2005, Vietnam had 211 delegations with more than 2,000 young people participating in international events organized for the world’s youth circles. The number of international young people delegations visiting Vietnam in 2005 was also higher than that of 2004.
