Success Originates From Trust - Future Originates From Today

As the biggest direct investment from Japan in Vietnam, Nghi Son Cement Corporation just celebrated its 10^th anniversary early this year. And as a pioneer to the remote and difficult land between Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, Nghi Son Cement demonstrated admirable iron will in managing many enormous troubles to complete the 1^st phase, accomplishing at that time the largest cement plant in Vietnam and making significant contributions to the development process of the country.

 

As everything is going more and more smoothly, we decided for the 2^nd phase expansion and we hope this time it would be much easier. Sponsors have worked together for a long time, the business environment is now much improved, our team is also more experienced. Unfortunately, Nghi Son Cement hasn’t been able to start expanding to meet future increased demand of Vietnam.

 

Shipping more cement to meet the booming demand in the South is crucial issue for us, and is beneficial to all people in the industry. It took us years to introduce one more specialized cement tanker. We need more but face similar regulatory problems such as the age of vessels, chattering term and modes. And now our customers suffer from unstable supply, therefore we lose market shares so vital for our expansion.

 

With support of the local government, we obtained license for a new cement terminal, but suddenly we have been asked to suspend necessary marine jetty construction. After meetings and petition, now we are still waiting for final decision by the Government.

 

All sponsors agree upon a basic policy “Fast Implementation – Good Quality – Cost Saving” but after several rounds of discussion about expansion plans we could not start since no unanimous decision could be made. The local sponsor asked for our understanding “As a State Owned Enterprise we must follow this and that” but who could share our simple concern, time is money.

 

We believe what we do is good for success of Nghi Son Cement Corporation in future. We believe what we do is good for future of successful Vietnam. But success originates from trust. And future originates from today.

 

Therefore, Vietnam and foreign investors, we should take speedy and aggressive action.
