Vietnam - Japan Gemstones Co., Ltd. - Expansion Based on Creative Products

Established in 1993, Vietnam – Japan Gemstones Co., Ltd (VIJAGEMS) is a Joint – Venture Company between Kotubuki Co., Ltd (Japan) and Vietnam Mineral Corporation (VIMICO). The company has been developed continuously over the past 10 years with the increasing interest rate and one of the symbolic for the business cooperation between   Japanese and Vietnamese company.
 
“Being one of the first gemstone enterprises exporting its products to foreign countries, we understand thoroughly the challenges and difficulties of this field”, said Mr. Luong Duc Chinh, Deputy General Director.

Before this, the occupation descended from generation to generation, and skilful jewellers were very few. Regardless of these difficulties, it determined strategy of training the staff well, meeting the demands of producing super products. Now, the company has been proud of the best staff of jewellers in Viet Nam who are highly appreciated by foreign experts.
 
Unlike the former jewellery, the company has set up the target of providing products for a fixed amounts of high aesthetic taste customers. The company sells not only value but creativity in each product. Each jeweller is an artist and each product is a work of art, they are free to show their creativity.
 
“We create all favourable working conditions for the staff” – said Mr. Chinh “although the gemstone production links with each jeweller management of a quantity of valuable fortune, we are one of very few companies not using the camera to check all process, so that it has created absolutely credibility for the staff.
 
Our strongpoint of products is creativity showed in each product. Since our establishment, the management board of company defined that, the company existence depend much on the renovation, the company itself has set up professional model design staffs who are trained in Viet Nam and Japan. In addition, due to target of the company, our product is unique, so that our products is paid special attention in the big market as Japan, Hong Kong... 80 per cent of products are exported to this market every year .
 
Fine rubies provided in the local market also attract the attention of hard – to – please customers. “We own fine rubies. It is unfortunate that, we have not had many professionally skilled jewelers, who are capable of meeting the demands of producing exports. Because the sharpening and cutting is up to the mark, it is easy for us to see the whole natural beauty of gemstones. In order to improve this disadvantage, the company hires foreign experts consulting of technical to show all the beauty of the stone and then, high aesthetic- value products are made.
 
Beside the traditional products, the company always has diversified products. For example, the company makes full use of the natural pink color of the queen – named shell of the South America to make decorative lamps for famous hotels and its luxury rooms.
 
With continuously increasing living conditions, many Vietnamese people are becoming aware intelligence – value of products, the local market of the company is constantly expanded, accounting for 20 per cent of total production. That is the remarkable success, and an evidence for super jewellery and gemstone development strategy of management board.
 
In order to expand the scale of the company and because policies on taxation, customs, investment environment in Vietnam are uninterruptedly improved, company plan to carry out some investment projects in coming time.
