Chu Se Rubber Company was set up on August 17, 1984 with the main tasks of planting, taking care, exploiting and processing rubber latex, trading and consuming products as well as providing veterinary services.
Founded in a land with disadvantaged natural conditions for rubber tree growth, during its development process, the company always managed to fulfill its assigned plans. Since 1992, when the first rubber gardens were exploited, each year’s latex production has been higher than the previous year’s. The latex production in 2005 reached 730 tonnes. Besides the latex exploited itself, the company also buys latex from farmers at high prices. Therefore, the total output of processed latex in 2005 was 8,074 tonnes, reaching the turnover of VND162 billion gaining VND61 billion of profit with VND30 billion contributed to the local budget. With an initial 19 employees, nowadays, the company has a powerful staff of 2,000 workers including 800 from ethnic minorities.
Apart from exploiting, processing and consuming the rubber latex, the company has aimed at other fields such as raising cows and producing micro-organic fertilisers for industrial plants like rubber trees, pepper, coffee and sugarcane, contributing to improving soil, enhancing the cultivation production as well as reducing the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides for developing a modern and sustainable agriculture. The company has expanded the cultivation of plants of high economic efficiency suitable to local natural conditions like pepper and coffee. It has developed a latex processing factory of 6,000 tonnes per year.
Investing in infrastructure, the company has set up a service network ensuring the production and business as well as meeting the people’s demands with the provision of medical and schooling services. In 2005, the average monthly salary reached VND2 million/person. The company has extracted the welfare fund to give non-interest loans to workers for house reparations. Furthermore, it has mobilised more than VND9 billion from many resources to provide loans to employees for planting over 400 hectares of coffee, 70 hectares of pepper, and raising more than 400 Sind cross-bred cows. These activities have helped to improve the people’s life and income. The rate of rich households increases fast with significant reduction in poor households.
With great achievements and contribution to local socio-economic development, Chu Se Rubber Company has been awarded the title of Hero of Labour in the Innovation Period, many Labour Medals and Certificates of Merit.
