PM Khai Pledges Investment Incentives to Indo Firms

Visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister yesterday at the Vietnam-Indonesia Business forum in Jakarta urged Indonesian enterprises to do business in Vietnam by pledging favorable conditions for them.
 
“Vietnam is willing to give priority to Indonesia to do business which interests both countries,” Lao Dong (Labour) daily newspaper quoted Khai as saying.
 
He particularly showed a list of projects which need foreign investment for the 2006-2010 period, including 94 key projects in the building of infrastructure, iron and non-ferrous metal manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, chemical industry, construction materials, production and processing of farm produce, forestry and fishery products, and the service sector.
 
After the working session, Khai witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between businesspeople from the two countries.
 
On the same day, Vietnam and Indonesia released a joint press declaration to reaffirm their commitment made before between Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
 
The daily newspaper today further released information about defense and tourism cooperation between the two nations. It informed that the two leaders agreed to boost military collaboration by having more regular exchanges made by high-ranking army officials and developing a plan to sign a outline agreement on the tie. In the tourism sector, they pledge to quickly open a straight flight from Jakarta to Hanoi.
 
Prime Minister Khai left Jakarta for Hanoi on the same day wrapping up his three-day tour.
