On April 15, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to announce the decision and award certificates of recognition of craft villages, traditional craft villages, traditional occupations, and certification of OCOP products at the City level in 2024.

On this occasion, Hanoi City awarded the titles of "Traditional Craft", "Traditional Craft Village," and "Hanoi Craft Village" to 14 villages. Of which, Van An carpentry village (Son Dong commune, Son Tay town), Hat Mon carpentry village (Hat Mon commune, Phuc Tho district), Chung Chan sewing village (Van Tu commune, Phuc Xuyen district) were recognized with the title of "Hanoi Craft Village"; Co Chat embroidery village (Dung Tien commune, Thuong Tin district); Gie Ha and Gie Thuong leather shoe villages (Phu Yen commune, Phu Xuyen district); The craft village of lotus tea in Quang Ba (Quang An ward, Tay Ho district) was recognized as a traditional craft village...
Potential 5-star OCOP products of Hanoi city
In addition, other crafts such as: Products from green rice in Hang Than street and bronze casting in Ngu Xa (both in Truc Bach ward, Ba Dinh district); flute kites in Ba Duong Noi village (Hong Ha commune, Dan Phuong district); jewelry and silver beans in Dinh Cong village (Dinh Cong ward, Hoang Mai district); green rice in Vong village (Dich Vong Hau ward, Cau Giay district); and lotus tea in Quang An (Quang An ward, Tay Ho district)... were recognized as "Traditional Crafts" of Hanoi.
In addition, Hanoi City also awarded recognition decisions to 108 products of 17 districts and towns certified by the City People's Committee as achieving 4 stars, with potential for 5 stars in 2024.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that with the achieved results, the Department continues to effectively implement Decision No. 282/QD-UBND dated January 15, 2025 of the City People's Committee on approving the "Overall project for developing craft villages in Hanoi for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050"; advising the City in coordinating with the World Craft Council, approving at least 2 more craft villages of Hanoi to become members of the Network of Creative Craft Cities worldwide in 2025.
Currently, Hanoi has 1,350 craft villages, of which 337 are recognized traditional craft villages; in addition to craft villages, Hanoi currently has 1,336 agricultural cooperatives in operation; 1,574 farms; 172 production and consumption chains; with more than 164 high-tech application models, over 14 thousand agricultural, forestry and fishery products have been granted traceability codes (QRCode); The city has evaluated 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the country), including 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products and 1,718 3-star products; the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the Central Office for New Rural Areas to continue to pay attention to guiding and supporting Hanoi in evaluating and recognizing 5-star products. The Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion continues to support and coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment in promoting and introducing Hanoi's products in the domestic and international markets. The City's New Rural Area Coordination Office focuses on implementing the OCOP program, which needs to go into depth and substance, selecting strong and key products to support development and strengthening the organization of events, coordinating with provinces and cities in the country as well as international events to promote OCOP products and Hanoi's craft villages.

The People's Committees at the district and commune levels continue to promote the development of craft villages, traditional crafts, and traditional craft villages to maintain and honor the association with the development of OCOP products to form craft village tourism destinations and experiential tourism.
Craft villages and OCOP entities continue to develop production and business effectively in the direction of developing sustainable products in the chain, investing in upgrading and expanding the scale, the quality of products is increasingly sophisticated, attracting consumers; applying technology, promoting diverse promotions on digital platforms, creating more jobs, increasing income for workers.
