The prestigious Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2025 (VME) and the Vietnam–Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition 2025 (SIE) officially opened on the morning of 6 August at the I.C.E. Hanoi (Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace). The event marks 17 years of continuous development in Vietnam’s manufacturing sector and over two decades of sustainable industrial collaboration between Vietnam and Japan.

Delegates opening the event
The opening ceremony was held in a formal setting, with the presence of Mr. Vu Ba Phu – Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), Mr. Takakazu Watanabe – Minister-Counsellor, Head of Economic Section, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam (EOJ);; Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa – Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) - Hanoi Representative Office; and Ms. Varaporn Dhamcharee – Managing Director of RX Tradex Thailand & Vietnam, along with a wide range of business leaders, industry associations from Vietnam and Japan, investors, and international and local partners.
Two exhibitions – one mission: building a smart and sustainable supply chain
Over nearly two decades, VME and SIE have continously played the role as a trategic bridge, helping Vietnamese manufacturing enterprises expand markets abroad, approach modern technologies and gradually involve in global value chains.
Organized annually by RX Tradex, VME has become Vietnam’s leading trade show for machinery, equipment, and manufacturing technologies. Since its first edition in 2008, the expo has continually expanded in scale and quality, becoming a trusted destination for engineers, experts, managers, and local
and international equipment suppliers. It showcases new technologies and is a strategic gateway for thousands of innovative factory solutions, automation systems, AI, metrology, and industrial control technologies.
SIE, co-organized by JETRO and VIETRADE, is part of the Vietnam–Japan Joint Initiative and the Vietnam–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), aiming to promote supporting industries and improve Vietnam’s investment environment. Over the past 20 years, SIE has become a reputable platform that has helped hundreds of Vietnamese enterprises become Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers to major Japanese corporations. Alternating annually between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, SIE facilitates targeted B2B meetings between Japanese buyers and Vietnamese suppliers in key sectors such as electronic components, precision engineering, plastic molding, tooling, and engineering plastics—areas with increasing localization demand.

Representatives of international organizations and ministries attended the opening ceremony of the event
In 2025, as Vietnam’s manufacturing sector undergoes a critical transformation influenced by global supply chain restructuring, green transition, digitalization, and next-generation FTAs, VME & SIE are expected to serve as a strategic platform to support government-driven industrial development strategies. Nearly 200 global brands including SINFONIA, LKM, AMETEK, TECOMACO, TANCO, HURCO, DYNCAST, CASTOR & WHEELS—will participate, showcasing smart factory systems, industrial robots, AI applications, and new energy-efficient technologies.
2025 highlights: technology experience, advanced training, and effective business matching
Beyond the expansive international exhibition area, VME & SIE 2025 are designed as an integrated platform offering high practical value for participating enterprises—from experiencing breakthrough technologies to engaging in strategic partnerships and multilateral trade promotion activities.

In-Depth Technical Seminars: Organized in collaboration with the Vietnam Association for Supporting Industries (VASI), the Vietnam Electronics Industries Association (VEIA), and various international organizations, the seminar program gathers leading domestic and international experts to address key issues shaping Vietnam’s manufacturing future: digital transformation, automation, AI integration in production, supporting industry policy updates, and opportunities for local enterprises in an increasingly globalized market.
Business Matching Area – Efficient Direct Networking: The on-site B2B matching zone allows businesses to schedule meetings with potential partners throughout the 3-day show. Hundreds of meetings are expected, helping companies save time, target the right partners, and establish meaningful commercial collaborations. An automatic recommendation system—integrated from the visitor registration stage—will also guide attendees toward exhibitors matching their interests, enhancing the visit experience and efficiency.

Sourcing Area – Connecting with High-Potential Buyers: A key feature in 2025 is the Sourcing Area, a strategic hub where capable Vietnamese supporting industry suppliers can meet international buyers and actively expand their supplier networks in Vietnam. At least six major buying corporations operating in precision mechanics, aluminum casting, plastic injection, and tooling are expected. The area provides a unique opportunity for Vietnamese companies to understand technical requirements, selection processes, and partnership expectations—critical steps toward qualifying as suppliers in global supply chains.
Supporting Industry Business Exchange – Pathway to Japan’s Supply Chain: As part of SIE 2025, JETRO will organize six targeted business presentations to foster direct collaboration between Vietnamese suppliers and leading Japanese manufacturers. On August 7, selected Vietnamese enterprises will present their core competencies, product portfolios, and collaboration proposals to potential Japanese partners. On August 8, major Japanese corporations operating in Vietnam will outline their local sourcing needs, technical standards, and long-term supply chain strategies. This two-way dialogue will help both sides identify compatible capabilities and establish concrete paths for partnership.
In parallel, leading Japanese corporations will join the SIE matchmaking program, including Toyota, Denso, Enshu Sanko, Hoshimoto, Y.H. Seiko, Pegasus, Hirota, and others. Vietnamese companies will be able to meet procurement representatives and learn about buyer expectations, supplier evaluation procedures, and technical standards, laying the groundwork for long-term integration into regional and global production networks.

Robowork Station – Future Factory in Action: This interactive zone will showcase the technologies shaping the future of manufacturing, from smart factory automation and AI-assisted quality inspection to new materials that enhance productivity and energy efficiency. Visitors can observe live demonstrations of AI-integrated industrial robots performing pick-and-place, sorting, welding, assembly, and other operations—simulating next-generation production workflows.
Ms. Varaporn Dhamcharee, Managing Director of RX Tradex Thailand and Vietnam, stated at the opening ceremony: “VME & SIE have been shaped as a strategic business development platform that effectively connects public and private resources, both domestic and international. In the context of global uncertainty, Vietnam remains a beautiful destination for foreign investment. According to the General Statistics Office and the Ministry of Finance, disbursed FDI in Vietnam reached USD 11.72 billion in the first half of 2025—an 8.1% increase year-on-year and the highest in five years. Notably, the manufacturing and processing sector accounted for 81.6% of total FDI, amounting to USD 9.56 billion, reflecting tremendous growth potential. This presents an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to enhance their capabilities, access global supply chains, and adopt advanced manufacturing technologies. The 2025 edition aims to promote technology transfer, expand supply networks, and support modernizing Vietnam’s manufacturing and supporting industries. The event is expected to welcome over 10,000 trade visitors from more than 30 countries across key sectors such as electronics, automotive, precision engineering, construction, plastics, and chemicals.”
Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa, Chief Representative of JETRO Hanoi, emphasized: “Strengthening linkages between Japanese and Vietnamese businesses goes beyond technology transfer or workforce training—a shared strategy to enhance the resilience of the manufacturing value chain.”
VME & SIE 2025 serves as a convergence point for innovation, collaboration, and visionary development of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector in a new era. The exhibition is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, August 6–8, 2025, at the I.C.E. Hanoi (91 Tran Hung Dao, Hanoi).
