There are currently many producers participating in Vietnam’s construction material market, of which those involved in the production of plastic doors and windows and enamelled tiles account for a large proportion, with fierce competition seen between Eurowindow, Dong A and Vietsec.
In this context, the Housing Construction & Investment Joint Stock Company (HCI) has chosen quite a different direction: producing industrial wood doors made of fibreglass with the brand ‘Housing Doors’. The company has chosen the domestic market as its development strategy, which has proved to be a good move.
The company’s products were launched in August, 2003 and are highly valued by customers. Housing doors are safe, fireproof, and meet standards and requirements for modern construction works. Before going to the market, all products are dried and protected against twisting and termites, which aer impervious to sun, rain and suitable to the hot weather conditions in Vietnam.
To make the products successful in the market and accepted by customers, the company has conducted market research to create designs and features that meet customers’ tastes, producing both internal and external doors with synchronous design and a variety of dimensions. The company is equipped with an advanced production line, active and creative designers, making its own stylish products.
To ensure producer’s prestige, the company has carried out synchronous steps, having its products guaranteed by its customer service centre and using guarantee stamp of the Criminal Science Institute, the Ministry of Public Security, which is considered as a commitment between manufacturer and customers. The company currently has more than 100 designs of doors. In particular it has registered its products’ trademark and industrial design at the Intellectual Property Department.
Ms Chau Thi Thu Nga- Director of the company said: “The domestic market has great potential. Demand for industrial doors is always increasing because such products meet the public’s requirements for quality, design and price. Products with high competitiveness offer customers more choices”.
The production process is managed closely under ISO standards along with professional services against imitations, which protects customers’ interests in purchasing and using the products. HCI currently has 4 door manufacturing factories with a capacity of 5000m2 per month and over 100 agents throughout the North, and are looking to expand their market in the central and southern provinces
In addition to housing doors, the company also produces tiles with the brand Housing Block. This is a new product with more advantages over others. For block bricks there are two kinds of compressed brick. Housing Block comes to the market in the form of glazed tiles. The product is highly smooth, polished and skid-resistant and comes in a variety of designs. The company also produces tiles for interior decoration and the disabled and the blind.
The company’s strategy in the coming time includes gradually bringing the products to customers, stabilising the domestic market, improving distribution channel and enhancing production capacity. In the next five months, the company will open a construction material supermarket in the city of Haiphong. “Durable and long-lasting products in company with every family” is the company’s guideline throughout its business operation, Nga added.
