As the leading clean water supplier in western Gia Lai Province, Gia Lai Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company is steadily expanding its water supply network, modernizing infrastructure, and improving operational efficiency to meet growing urban demand for clean water.

Inspecting and monitoring raw and treated water quality

The company currently operates clean water supply systems in Pleiku and Ayun Pa with a total production capacity of approximately 38,000 cubic meters per day, a 480-km pipeline network, and 42,662 customers. Raw water is sourced from Bien Ho A Lake and treated to meet the Ministry of Health's National Technical Regulation on Drinking Water Quality.

Guided by the principle of "Safe Water Supply - Efficient Operations - Sustainable Development," the company continues investing in expanding plant capacity, extending its pipeline network, and applying science and technology to ensure a sufficient, continuous, and safe water supply while reducing water loss, saving energy, and improving system efficiency.

In 2025, the company maintained stable operations while ensuring an efficient clean water supply. It also accelerated investment in network expansion to increase access to clean water. Water loss declined from 31% to 25% and is expected to fall further to approximately 21% in 2026. Its production, revenue, and service quality targets all met or exceeded plan.

Beyond its business operations, the company remains committed to serving the community. In 2025, it installed free public drinking water stations at Dai Doan Ket Square and Hoang Hoa Tham High School, providing residents and students with convenient access to safe drinking water. In 2026, the company plans to install additional free drinking water stations at public spaces and schools across the province.

Under the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee's plan, 75.9% of the urban population will have access to clean water through centralized supply systems by 2026. To help achieve this target, the company has prioritized investment and mobilized its workforce to accelerate projects expanding the water distribution network to suburban roads in Pleiku and Ayun Pa. The projects include approximately 73 km of new pipelines and are expected to connect around 3,000 additional customers.

Expansion efforts are focused on key wards, including Thong Nhat, Hoi Phu, and An Phu, to increase access to clean water and extend service coverage to new residential areas. At the same time, approximately 11 km of aging pipelines will be upgraded to improve water quality, ensure stable water pressure, reduce water loss, and enhance the reliability of the existing distribution system.

In addition to implementing priority projects planned at the beginning of the year, the company is working closely with commune and ward authorities to assess actual demand in alleys and small residential areas. This allows it to allocate investment resources flexibly, expand the pipeline network, and increase the number of households with access to standardized domestic water.

According to General Director Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, alongside infrastructure investment, the company is accelerating technology adoption and digital transformation by implementing district metered areas (DMAs), investing in a raw water monitoring system, and automating operations at the Bien Ho Water Treatment Plant. It is also digitizing customer and pipeline network data and deploying meter-reading and billing management software to improve operational efficiency, respond quickly to incidents, and ensure a safe, uninterrupted water supply 24/7. The company also continues investing in training to strengthen the capabilities of its management team and workforce.

"Currently, some manufacturing facilities, schools, hospitals, and households still rely on groundwater instead of centralized clean water systems. Therefore, we hope to continue receiving support and cooperation from local authorities to raise public awareness of the benefits of using clean water," Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh said.
