Petro Vietnam Starts Building Petroleum Depot in Central Vietnam
PetroVietnam Trading Co. (Petechim), a subsidiary of the Vietnam’s State oil monopoly PetroVietnam, yesterday kicked off the construction on a gas and oil storage terminal at Chan May Port in central Thua Thien-Hue province.
The depot will be used to store oil and petrol from local underway refineries, including Dung Quat Refinery and Nghi Son, for local distribution, according to a PetroVietnam official.
Chan May Deepwater Seaport is capable of receiving ships of more than 5,000 tons, he said. The facility is expected to be completed after seven months of construction.
The Dung Quat and Nghi Son oil refineries are located in Quang Ngai and Thanh Hoa provinces, respectively, both in Central Vietnam.
