The luxury vehicle maker Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) is executing a sales promotion program for buyers of E-class and C-class sedans until the end of May, aiming to boost up its falling sales in the country.

The Germany-led carmaker will discount US$6,000-8,000, depending on the model, for buyers of the two brands, an MBV representative revealed.

Besides, MBV will organize a program entitled “Mercedes-Benz Special Days” for its customers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from May 5-7. MBV customers will be offered free drinks and interesting gifts in addition to rebates.

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), MBV sold only 114 cars in the first quarter of this year, down 59.3 per cent against the same period last year.

All 11 operational foreign-invested carmakers in Vietnam sold 4,733 automobiles in the first three months, down 32 per cent on year, said the VAMA. Toyota is the largest carmaker with 2,198 units, followed by Ford 767 units and Isuzu 337 units.
