Intensifying International Trade in Service Statistics
With the view to help Vietnam’s services sector to overcome weaknesses, and especially put in place a sound statistical system for trade in services, the Multilateral Trade Assistance Project (MUTRAP), in cooperation with the General Statistic Office (GSO) have just organised two-day training workshops on “International Trade in Services Statistics” in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city.
A technical activity is designed for assisting GSO of Viet Nam and relevant Ministries, Agencies to establish a statistical system for trade in services, meeting increasing domestic demand and international standards.
The workshop presents initial research results of EU and local experts on current status of trade in services statistics of Vietnam, introducing international methodology and approach on trade in services statistics. Some preliminary recommendations on international trade in services statistics and international practices will also be introduced. Results from these workshops will serve as important inputs for future technical assistance to establish and run a sound statistical system for trade in services.
