Viettel-PCCW linkage

After two months of negotiation, on March 15, Viettel signed an agreement with PCCW on international optical cable. On May 2, 2006, Viettel officially started the channel STM-1 (155Mbps) increasing the capacity to 1.24 Gb/s, the second biggest in Vietnam. So far Viettel has connected by ground optical cable with four international partners : Hutchison, PCCW, NTT and Teleglobe and by satellite with AT&T to ensure stable and reliable communications and reduce the fee for users.
