AMATA Industrial Zones with New Projects
On July 1, 2006, in AMATA Vietnam Industrial Zone, Shirai Industrial Co., Ltd (Japan) with Director General Yusuke Shirai signed a land renting contract to build a factory in AMATA Vietnam IZ. Shirai Industrial Co., Ltd was granted license on April 14, 2006 with initial investment capital of US$8 million in wood processing and handicraft articles for export. The project will start operating later this year and recruit over 1,000 workers in the region.

On July 3, 2006, at AMATA Vietnam Industrial Zone, United Phosphorus Vietnam Ltd (India) specialises in producing insecticide and chemicals preventing fungus and weed with investment capital of US$3 million started a earth-breaking to build a factory at AMATA VN. The factory will provide 80% of the products for Vietnamese market and 20% for export to regional markets.
