US officials from the Indiana state will carry out a five-day agricultural trade mission to Vietnam and Taiwan in the first week of October to seek new business opportunities for its food and agricultural industry.

The objective of the mission is to connect delegates with specific business counterparts in each country, such as retailers, wholesalers, restaurant chains and other importers.

The delegation, led by Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and Indiana Agriculture Director Andy Miller, will comprise a wide range of agricultural and agribusiness leaders. They will depart Indianapolis on September 30, spending two days in Vietnam and three days in Taiwan.

Lt. Governor Skillman said that Vietnam is an emerging market in Asian region as it has strongly opened its economy since 1995.
