Ford to Sell More Transit Minibuses in Vietnam

Ford Vietnam Limited will continue its focus on investing in Ford Transit minibus models in the growing Vietnamese market, a source from the Ford Vietnam customer meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City today.

 

Ford will further develop the Transit Limited version, Ngo Tuyet Ngan, sales manager of Ford Vietnam, said. “A Ford Transit Limited is now sold at $36,000,” she added.

 

The 16-seater Ford Transit is a favorite model in Vietnam for its luxury and convenient features, a corporate official said.

 

Ford has sold over 5,200 Transit minibuses since it made a debut in 1997, he added.

 

Ford Vietnam, a joint venture between Vietnam's VEAM's Song Cong Diesel Co. and the US-based Ford Motor Co., with an initial investment capital of $102 million, sold 2,075 cars in Vietnam in the first seven months of this year, down 14 per cent on year, including 404 Transit.

 

Apart from Transit, Ford also sells Escape, Everest, Laser, Focus, Mondeo and Ranger in Vietnam.
