Bao Viet Selected as APEC 2006 Official Insurer
The National Committee for the APEC 2006 has chosen the Vietnam Insurance Corporation (Bao Viet) as the official insurer for the upcoming APEC Summit 2006 and the two sides are expected to sign an insurance policy September 25.
Accordingly, Bao Viet will insure all the summit’s delegates along with nearly 240 cars of Ford Mondeo 2.5, Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Transit, Mercedes E280, Mercedes E200K during 15 days of the APEC 2006 in Hanoi.
The delegates will be entitled to the travel health insurance applicable for foreigners in Vietnam. The maximum insurance compensation is US$100,000 for each head of a country, US$50,000 for each minister and US$20,000 for others.
The insured people will be paid for medical expenses in case of illness and accidents during this time.
APEC, the most important effect to Vietnam this year, is expected to welcome around more than one thousand of high-ranking state leaders from East Asia and North America to Vietnam.
