17 Peat Mines Discovered in Mekong Delta Province
Up to 17 peat mines with total reserves of some eight million tons have been discovered in two mountainous districts of Tri Ton and Tinh Bien in Mekong Delta An Giang province, a recent survey says.
Samples show that quality of peat at these mines are good with average contents of organic substances of 42 per cent and carbon content of 13-24 per cent, said an official from the province’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The provincial People’s Committee is quick to complete preferential policies in order attract investors in exploiting this source of natural resource, the official added.
