Competition in Cargo Transportation

According to many reports at seminars under the framework of the international transport and supporting industry trade fair (Vietnam AutoExpo2006) held by the Ministry of Industry and the Vietnam Society of Automotive Engineers (VSAE), the cargo transportation will be active when Vietnam joins the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

 

Many delegates agreed that when Vietnam makes deeper international integration, more and more international firms will arrive in this country. The chance for the cargo transportation will be increased. However, the participation of good transportation firms will boost up the increasingly fierce competition in this industry. Many domestic transport firms said foreign companies will choose to cooperate with domestic units in the initial phases as they don’t clearly get known of Vietnam.

 

In the context of the competition challenge, domestic transport firms said punctual deliveries, goods safety and quality guaranty, and reasonable haulage will generate success. Besides, the investment in warehouse, including both parking lots and transhipment depots, is also an essential factor in this competition.
