Mercedes-Benz Wins Largest Order in Vietnam

Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) on October 21 signed a contract to sell 250 Sprinter minibuses to Mai Linh Corp., the largest order of MBV to date.
 
MBV said some $9-million contract will be fulfilled by its agent Vietnam Star Automobile.
 
The 16-seat Sprinter, equipped with CDI engine, is suitable for travel trips in Vietnam. The minibus satisfies the Euro 3 environment standard.
 
Udo F. Loersch, general director of MBV, said Mai Linh is a giant firm specializing in inbound and outbound travel, taxi operation, vehicle leasing for offices and tourists in Vietnam and MBV is very pleased to supply 16-seaters to Mai Linh.
 
This contract affirmed the advantage of MBV vehicles as well as generates new biz opportunities in Vietnam.
 
According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), MBV sold 770 units in the first nine months of this year, down 33 per cent, including 587 Sprinter minibuses.
