Initially, Vietnam planned to ship abroad 14 million tons of coal in 2006.
Vinacomin will sell 2.8-3 million tons in November and December this year. In the first ten months, the group exported 17.138 million tons, up 51 per cent on-year, obtaining US$599.74 million, a rise of 28.6 per cent on-year. The company said it aimed to raise annual coal production capacity from the current 40 million tons to 55 million tons in 2015, to meet the increasing demand for coal in both domestic and international markets.
