Vietnam to Invest US$87.5Mln in Buon Ma Thuot Airport Expansion

Vietnam will pump more than VND1.4 trillion (US$87.5 million) into expanding Buon Ma Thuot airport in the Central Highlands, Dau Tu (Investment) Newspaper reports.
 
Under the plan, the airport, located in Dak Lak province, is set to have an area of 464 hectares by 2015.
 
The first phase of the project, which will last until 2015, is estimated to cost VND600 billion (US$37.5 million) and the second phase, until 2025, will require VND800 billion (US$50 million).
 
When the first phase is finished, the airport is scheduled to be capable of housing ATR 72, Fokker 70, Airbus 320 and Airbus 321 aircraft, and receiving 300,000 passengers a year.
 
It is expected to serve 800,000 passengers after the second phase is completed.
