Northern Service Flight Co.Diversifying Services

The Northern Service Flight Company (NSFC), which was formed in 1989, is a State-run unit. After 17 years of construction and development, NSFC has conducted thousands of safety flight hours and undertaken various essential aviation services. 

 

NSFC is mainly engaged in aviation transportation (passenger and cargo), flight service, training service, construction design and consulting service, oil trading and import-export of aviation materials.

Mr Pham Duy Luan, Director of NSFC, said: In the past many years, Northern Service Flight Company has actively applied new technologies and modern equipment and helicopters like MI-17, MI-172, EC-155B and Super Puma MK2 to provide best flight services. Pilots, managerial staffs and technicians are sent to follow intensive course in Russia, England, France, Norway and other countries.

 

The company is the largest domestic flight service company, serving oil and gas exploration and exploitation activities in Vietnam and overseas, US’s mission in action (MIA) programme in Vietnam, forest seed sowing, 500-KVA power transmission line maintenance and repair, search and rescue, and other special missions.

 

NSFC has recently cooperated with CHC Helicopter Corporation of Canada to provide transportation services for Petronas Vietnam to and from Block 102 and 106 in Tonkin Gulf. Specifically, in the first phase from June 5, 2006 to July 8, 2006, NSFC served 67 flight hours to oil well No. 1 operated by Petronas and transported 426 people. In the second phase from July 9 to September 22, 2006, NSFC provided flight services to and from oil well No. 2 operated by PetroVietnam Investment & Development Company (PIDC), with 730 people on board and 110 flight hours.

 

To diversify its services, the company has tightly coordinated with travel firms to organise tours from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay to serve flight services for VIP clients and businesspeople on Saturdays. NSFC conducted 400 safe flights to Ha Long Bay. Visiting Ha Long Bay picturesque has become a special tour uniquely provided by NSFC.
