Viettel and VNPT Raises Connection Capacity

The Vietnam Posts and Telecom Group (VNPT) and the Vietnam Military Telecom Corp (Viettel) signed a network connection deal at the VNPT’s headquarters on December 1, 2006, a move to implement the Decision No. 12/2006/QD-Ministry of Posts and Telecoms to guarantee the service quality for their clients in 2007.

 

Accordingly, in 2007, VNPT will provide Viettel with 1,305 new E1 lines for the latter’s mobile phone communication network (totalling 2,936), 74 E1 gates for the VoIP service (raising the total to 269 E1 gates) and 210 E1 gates for the PSTN service (raising the total E1 gates in this package to 429).

 

To date, Viettel has 92,910 ADSL internet subscribers, 148,653 PSTN clients and 6,577,786 mobile phone users.
