Vietnam Airlines to Increase Flight during Lunar New Year
To meet the ever-increasing travel demand during the Tet (Lunar New Year) Holiday 2007, Vietnam Airlines will increase the number of flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa (HN-SGN-HN) by 306 from February 01, 2007 to March 03, 2007. On peak days, Vietnam Airlines will serve 6,000 seats on the HAN-SGN-HAN route.
The national carrier will add 316 flights on the Ho Chi Minh City - Danang City - Ho Chi Minh City route (SGN-DAD-SGN) route. On peak days, Vietnam Airlines will serve some 2,300 seats. The airline will supplement 100 flights on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hue - Ho Chi Minh City (SGN-HUI-SGN) route. In addition, the carrier will also increase the air trips on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City (SGN-HPH-SGN) route by one flight, on the Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh - Ho Chi Minh City (SGN-VII-SGN) route by two flights, and on the Ho Chi Minh City - Qui Nhon - Ho Chi Minh City (SGN-UIH-SGN) route by 52 flights.
A top official of Vietnam Airlines said that the airplanes used in the last Tet were: ten Boeing 777s, two A330s, seven A321s, ten A320s, ten ATR-72d and two Fokker-70s. This year, Vietnam Airlines will regulate flights, based on the travel demand and the corporate capacity, to the best form.
