The Ministry of Fisheries will organize the 2007 Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Conference in Hanoi from August 5-8, the first in Vietnam.

The conference is seen as an opportunity for the local fisheries sector to access the world's latest information, experience and most advanced techniques in aquaculture.

It is also a chance for international participants to see the potential and achievements of the fisheries industry of Vietnam and other regional countries.

The ministry said in the first two months this year, Vietnam exported around US$450 million worth of seafood products, sharply increasing by nearly 42 per cent from 2006. (Vietnam & World Economy)
