Petro Vietnam to Donate US$3.75Mln for Charity in 2006-10
Vietnam's State oil and gas monopoly PetroVietnam will grant VND60 billion (US$3.75 million) for charity funds in the 2006-2010 period, said the corporation’s leaders on March 6.
Of the figure, in 2006 alone, the oil and gas firm contributed VND10.4 billion (US$650,000) for the funds “Den On Dap Nghia” and “Quy Vi Nguoi Ngheo” that benefited war invalids, revolutionary contributors, and poor people.
The Vietnam Father Front (VFF) President, Pham The Duyet, spoke highly of the monopoly’s charity for human development.
PetroVietnam will mobilize the most possible financial sources for charity funds launched by the VFF and Vietnam Television (VTV), the national television broadcaster, pledged the monopoly chairman, Dinh La Thang.
Last year, the firm pocketed revenue of more than VND180 trillion (US$11.25 billion). (Vietnam & World’s Economy, People’s Military)
