Vietnam, Denmark Sign Credit Framework Agreement

Denmark’s Cooperation and Development Minister Ulla Tornares and Planning and Investment Minister Vo Hong Phuc inked a credit framework agreement supporting Vietnam’s development projects from now till 2011.
 
This is the fourth general credit framework deal the two sides reached, through which, the foreign country will provide soft loans for Vietnam
 
Under the new framework agreement, DANIDA will boost the effective utility of credits with technical assistance from feasibility studies of a project through the bidding process.
 
The Danish-financed credit projects will be annually supervised by Vietnam and DANIDA.
 
Recently, a delegation of 30 IT and electronics firms from Denmark arrived in Vietnam from April 16-20, 2007 to seek investment opportunities in the country, according to a source from Danish Embassy.
 
Danish International Development Agency (Danida) will provide up to $850,000 to each project between Vietnamese and Danish firms. (Vietnam Economic Times)
