The legislative bodies of Vietnam and Poland should continue supporting and creating favorable conditions for further trade and investment cooperation between enterprises of both sides, said Vietnamese Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Van Yeu at talks with a delegation from the Polish Parliament's Lower House Legislative Committee, in Hanoi April 18.

At the meeting Yeu also asked the Polish government to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work in Poland.

For his part, Wojciech Szarama, who led the delegation, hoped that relationships between enterprises of both sides will be further developed, and mutual understanding between the two peoples will be increased, on the basis of Vietnam-Poland ties.

During their working visit from April 17-24, the Polish delegation will visit several localities of Vietnam. It has already worked with the legislative task committee, the NA
Standing Committee, the NA's Law Committee and other Vietnamese agencies.

In 2004, Vietnam-Poland trade value reached $220 million, a 23 per cent increase over 2003. Of the figure, Vietnam exported to Poland $187 million of goods, mainly rice, coffee, tea, footwear, garments and textiles, and imported Polish machinery, equipment, powdered milk, and medicine.
