Work Starts on the North's Biggest Carton Packing Plant
Ngoc Diep Joint Stock Company May 2 started construction on a carton packing plant in northern Hung Yen province, the biggest of its kind in northern Vietnam.
The company plans to invest nearly VND90 billion (5.62 million) in the first phase, building a 4-ha factory in Pho Noi A Industrial Zone, to open in October this year with annual output of 95.04 million cu.m packing.
The plant, which expects to issue shares to the public in early 2009, will have 2.2-meter production lines with a speed of 200 meters per minute, the most modern of this kind in the ASEAN country.
Reportedly, the project is the second of Ngoc Diep Company in the province.
The company also plans to invest VND60 billion (US$3.75 million) in a cement packing factory with an expected annual output of 40 million packages.
