Electronics Production to Reach US$6 Billion by 2010

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed a decision on May 30, 2007 to approve the Master Plan for Vietnam Electronics Industry Development until 2010 and vision to 2020.

 

Accordingly, the electronics industry needs to keep the production growth at 20-30 per cent to realise the targets of US$4-6 billion production value, export revenue of US$3-5 billion and employment of 300,000 people by 2010. As the vision to 2020, the electronics industry must become a major export product, create jobs for 500,000 people and build up an expertise engineer workforce. The industry will satisfy the domestic demand, develop supportive industries, export its products, and restructure the production.
