Vietnam's Industry Ministry to Complete Privatization of 18 SOEs by 2007

The Industry Ministry will complete the privatization plan of its 18 state-owned enterprises by the end of this year, Deputy Industry Minister, Dinh Tien Dung told mass media.
 
Dung noted the ministry is encouraging these businesses to list their shares on the domestic stock market.
 
Among the SOEs, the official said three corporations including COMA, Song Hong and Construction No1 and an independent DIC corp.
 
As the end of June, the ministry completed appraisal of asset value for 325 units, Dung said, adding currently 47 joint stock companies under its corporations have listed their shares.
 
The ministry has finished and submitted to the government for approval three economic groups such as construction industry, mechanical manufacturing and urban housing. (Securities Investment)
