Vietnam Apparel Firms Boosting Exports to Russia
A delegation of ten Vietnamese leading textile and garment companies including Viet Tien Garment Co and Thanh Cong Textile & Garment Joint Stock Co. have recently toured Russia to seek business partners and promote apparel exports to the foreign market.
The one-week trip, starting from August 13, was aimed to enhance bilateral trade ties and facilitate Vietnam’s exports to the country on the occasion of Emeral- Mekong expo held in Moscow.
The movement is partly due to Vietnamese apparel sector is at risk of the US monitoring mechanism, which is set to be concluded late this month.
Vietnam has targeted to obtain US$7.35 billion from textile and garment shipments this year, an on-year increase of 27 per cent against last year. (Saigon Liberated, VNA)
