Vietnam National Airlines Corporation launched on October 29 the trans-Indochina flight route No.2 Hanoi – Luong Prabang – Xiem Riep and vice versa, with 5 flights per week, running on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The route will use Fokker 70 aircraft. Hence, along with the existing Trans-Indochina route (Hanoi – Vientiane - Phnom Penh – Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam Airlines is developing widespread routes in Indochina, connecting the world cultural heritage sites and big cities in the region.
Mr Pham Ngoc Minh, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines Trade Department said, "The opening of the second trans-Indochina route from Hanoi, the City for Peace to two world cultural heritages, Luong Prabang in Laos and Xiem Riep in Cambodia, will provide convenient airline products for tourists, at the same time supplementing Vietnam Airline’s international routes. The route will also boost investment activities, especially cooperation ties among the tourism sectors of the three neighbouring countries in the Mekong Delta sub-region".
