US$18,000 Contributed for Victims Of Vietnamese Floods
Rolls-Royce has contributed over US$18,000 (approximately 300 million VND) to aid disaster relief operations in Vietnam following Typhoon Lekima’s debilitating effects and the spate of floods which have struck the country in the last year.
Working in collaboration with leading Vietnamese newspaper Thanh Nien, Rolls-Royce plans to use the funds to supply much needed food to Loc An, Loc Dien and Loc Bon, three isolated villages located in the district of Phu Loc (Thua Thien – Hue Province).
Patrick Regis, Regional Director of Rolls-Royce in Vietnam said of the undertaking, “Vietnam has endured a wave of natural disasters lately which has displaced many indigenous communities. Through this contribution, we hope to assist in the ongoing relief efforts in the region initiated by Thanh Nien and others to bring some comfort to the people who are recovering from the floods and Typhoon Lekima.”
“Rolls-Royce has always played a part in the well-being of the communities in which it operates and we felt it was timely and appropriate to demonstrate our commitment to Vietnam and the Vietnamese people in this manner.”,Patrick Regis said.
