Northern Vietnam Province OKed to License Zinc, Lead Exploration

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai approved provincial authorities of Thai Nguyen to decide who will explore zinc and lead ores in the province’s Phu Luong district, the Government Website stated.
 
Hai noted that applicants should be viable enough to carry on the work, prevent illegal operations relating to mineral exploitation and limit adverse environmental, social impacts in the region.
 
Thai Nguyen province, around 100 kilometers northern of Hanoi and 200 kilometers southern of China’s border, is estimated to reserve 12 million tons of zinc, lead, and 13,600 tons on tin, said statistic of the Web site of the Ministry of Finance. (Govt Website, www.mof.gov.vn))
