MoC Asks for Reports on Pace of Underway Cement Projects prior to June 30

The Ministry of Construction June 16 sent a document to investors of cement projects, asking for reports on the pace of projects prior to June 30, state media reported.
 
Any cement project investor does not submit a report before the above-mentioned date, the ministry will propose the prime minister to suspend or delay the project. 
 
Vietnam will put into operation eleven cement projects in 2008, 17 projects in 2009 and 18 projects in 2010 with a combined capacity of 12.28 million tons, 19.43 million tons and 13.96 million tons, respectively.
 
This year, the country’s cement demand is forecast to reach some 41 million tons in 2008, up 14 per cent on-year. (New Hanoi Online)
