Vinacommin to Put into Operation of Alumina Bauxite Plant
The Viet Nam Coal and Mineral Industrial Group (Vinacomin) and Central Highlands province of Dak Nong have signed an agreement on a joint programme to promote development of the aluminum industry along with the provincial socio-economic development.
Vinacomin is currently focusing efforts in speeding up the progress of the Nhan Co Alumina Bauxite Plant project in Dak Nong province which has an annual capacity of 600,000 tonnes.
The plant is scheduled to be put into operation in late 2010. Six subsidiaries of Vinacomin are currently carrying out seven projects exploring for bauxite mines in Dak Nong.
Vinacomin is making investment preparations in projects relating to bauxite exploitation and alumina production with a capacity of 1.5 to 2 million tonnes of alumina a year under a Planning for the 2007-2017 project approved by the Prime Minister.
