HCM City to Host Banking Symposium December 1-3
The ninth annual Banking Vietnam conference and exhibition in HCM City slated for Dec 1 to 3 will provide local banking sector with an opportunity to gain access to latest information technology, organizers said.
The two-day Technology Innovations Leverage Banking Services event is expected to help financial institutions sharpen their competitiveness through the use of IT solutions.
It is organized by the Department for Banking Information Technology (ITDB) of the State Bank of Vietnam and International Data Group (IDG) in Vietnam.
Ta Quang Tien, head of ITDB, said at a press conference Aug 18 that the forum will discuss emerging issues in terms of legal foundation for new IT applications.
This year, Banking Vietnam will continue putting an emphasis on the currently buzzing area of retail banking, customer centricity, performance benchmarking, risk management and compliance and core banking transformation.
It will also incorporate with an expo for the banking industry. Leading international technology vendors and top banks across Vietnam will showcase their state-of-the-art payment, card, ATM, front-office, contact center, core banking solutions.
Together with Banking Vietnam, Security World 2008 will be organized for enterprises to enhance their awareness of security issues and their investment in security solutions for sustainable business development.
The Vietnam IDG will also join in organizing the second event. (Vietnam Economic Times)
