Foreign Ministries of Vietnam, Bulgaria Boost Ties

Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister of Bulgaria Ivailo Kalfin is on a visit to Vietnam Nov 1-4 in order to reinforce the traditional cooperation and friendship between the ministries in particular and the two countries in general.
 
The visiting guest Nov 3 held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Gia Khiem to discuss cooperative measures and orientations in the time to come, including exchange of high-ranking delegations, and bilateral ties in economy-trade, education and training, culture, labor, and tourism.      
 
They agreed to work together for the 21st session of Vietnam-Bulgaria intergovernmental committee in mid-Nov as well as mutually support at international forums and organizations.
 
During his first trip to Vietnam, Deputy PM Ivailo Kalfin also met with Vietnam’ National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, who paid a visit to Bulgaria June this year. 
 
Vietnam’s top legislator expressed hope the agreements gained during his trip would be soon promoted.
 
The Bulgarian diplomat for his part assured his country is willing to help Vietnam develop the deeper relations with the EU.   
 
Vietnam and Bulgaria have signed a framework agreement on economic cooperation, deals on investment protection, avoidance of double taxation.
   
Last year, the two-way trade between Vietnam and Bulgaria reached US$46 million, up 45 per cent on year. (www.chinhphu.vn)
