The World Bank has said that the government of Vietnam has given OK to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the bank to hold mid-term CG meeting 2009 in Vietnam's central highland.

The government also urged MPI to double check to streamline procedures to boost FDI-invested projects, actively give supportive hands to the Japanese government to bring PCI scam to light in order for Japan to resume ODA aids for Vietnam.

An estimated 50 bilateral and multilateral donors will take part in the event.

At the year-end CG meeting held in early Dec, donors pledged US$5.014 billion, down 7.2 per cent on year as Japan stopped new ODA aids due to PCI scam. (www.chinhphu.vn, WB Source)
