Ambassador: RoK Treasures Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam

The Republic of Korea would continue to be a reliable partner of Vietnam, both in moment of thriving and difficulty, Ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae affirmed at a press conference to mark the 16th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
 
Ambassador Im Hong Jae told the press that South Korea is currently the second biggest bilateral ODA provider of Vietnam with a total capital pledged for 2009 of US$268.7 million.
 
In the face of the global downturn, Ambassador Im Hong Jae said, the sum has indicated the South Korean government always attaches a special importance to a comprehensive partnership with Vietnam.
 
The ambassador also highlighted the impressing figures in bilateral ties between the two nations over the past time, including the two-way trade of US$8.7 billion in the first ten months of this year.
 
South Korea is also rated the first among 81 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 2,022 projects valued at US$15.1 billion. (Investment Review)
