Ministry: Vietnam ‘08 Insurance Premiums Revenues +8.38 per cent to VND26 Tln
Vietnam’s insurance industry’s aggregate revenues grew 8.38 per cent on year to VND26.12 trillion (US$1.545 billion), the Ministry of Finance’s Insurance Supervision Department said.
The sector had premiums of VND21.194 trillion (US$1.254 billion), up 19.6 per cent on year, including VND10.855 trillion from life insurance contracts and VND10.339 trillion of non-life insurance deals, ministry said.
Last year, the industry had equity of up to VND17.934 trillion, up VND3 trillion from a year ago.
Currently, Vietnam has a total of 11 life insurance agencies and 26 non-life insurers, one reinsurance company and 10 brokers, state media said. (Stock Investment)
