14 Companies to Buy Gas from PetroVietnam's Affiliate
Fourteen out of 21 companies have succeeded in the auction for 11,500 tons of gas/month processed by Dinh Co plant, said the PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) – an affiliate of the state-owned oil monopoly PetroVietnam group.
Elf Gas Saigon registered to buy the biggest buying quantity of 5,000 tons/month while PetroVietnam Southern Gas Joint Stock Company is at the bottom with 700 tons/month, the Youth newspaper quoted PV Gas as saying.
As planned, first batches will be delivered to purchasers this April, the corporation attributed.
Half of gas processed at the plant will be distributed to PetroVietnam's affiliates, the Youth newspaper quoted PV Gas as saying.
Currently, Vietnam’s sole gas processor, Dinh Co is capable of feeding over 30 per cent of domestic demand for gas.
The country now has around 100 gas trading companies, including 10 bid companies that import and distribute LPG in the domestic market. (Youth)
