Dung Quat Oil Refinery Brings Diesel, Kerosene to Central Vietnam
Over 2,000 tons of diesel oil and 1,200 tons of kerosene produced by Vietnam’s first oil refinery Dung Quat have been sold in the central Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, and Danang provinces at prices equaling to imported rates, state media reported, citing the refinery’s management board.
Next month, 80,000 tons of crude oil from the Bach Ho oilfield will be transported to the Viet Thanh Bay in Quang Ngai’s Binh Son district, where the refinery is situated – to produce A90, A92 and A95 gasoline.
Feb 22, the country officially put into operation the refinery in central Quang Ngai province after 44 months of construction and welcomed the plant’s first commercial oil products, marking a special milestone for the country’s oil refinery industry.
The US$3.1-billion refinery is expected to refine 3.5 million tons of crude oil into 2.6 million tons of products during this year. (VoV, Vietnam Net)
