Vietnam's Apparel Exports Face More New Monitoring Rules from U.S.: Vitas
The U.S.’s Committee for Consumer Products Safety Monitoring has officially imposed more harsh measures to monitor import of textile and apparel products into the country, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) said, noting new rules would cause difficulties for Vietnam’s shipment.
Vitas recommends domestic producers should keep an eye on the quality of products as well as the implementation process of orders in order to ensure the shipment of textiles and garments to the vast market, the Investment newspaper reported.
Over the past two years, the DOC had supervised apparel imports from Vietnam but found no evidence of dumping.
Last year, Vietnam shipped US$4.47 billion worth of apparel products to the U.S, up 22.5 per cent. (Investment)
