Finance Ministry Advances US$29.4M for Railway Projects
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the Ministry of Finance to advance VND499 billion (US$29.4 million) for railway projects.
The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VRC) will use the fund to speed up construction pace of projects, the agency said.
The VRC has said it will spend approx VND11.6 trillion (US$686.4 million) to improve five key railway routes this year.
Of that sum, the VRC will spend VND2.552 trillion to upgrade the Hanoi-Lao Cai railway, VND1 trillion for information and signal systems of Hanoi-Vinh railway, VND4 trillion for Vinh-Nha Trang railway section and the remainder for improving 44 bridges on the north-south railway. (VNA)
