Thai Firm to Build US$4.11B Power Plant in VietnamCentralProvince
Authorities of central Quang Tri province April 1 gave a nod to Thailand’s Oswald & Son Company Limited to construct a coal-fired power plant costing VND70 trillion (US$4.11 billion) in the locality.
The 2,400-MW plant will be built on a 163-hectare area at My Thuy port, Hai An commune of Hai Lang district.
Equipped with European modern technology, the plant is expected to reduce pollution caused by itself.
Information about the time for starting and groundbreaking of the project, however, has not yet been made available.
Previously, the province approved Maritime Consultancy Joint Stock Company to pour VND20 trillion (US$1.18 billion) into My Thuy seaport in the 2009-2020 period. (HCMC Law, Great Union)
