Vietnam to Spend US$2.7B to Train Rural Workers By 2020
Vietnam plans to spend VND46.3 trillion (some US$2.7 billion) to train rural laborers from now to 2020 under a project outlined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Under the project waiting for the government’s approval, some 300,000 rural workers will be trained in cultivation and the rest will be provided with training courses on industrial production annually.
The government also set a goal for rural laborers to make up some 30 per cent of the country’s total workforce by 2020, of which over 50 per cent will undergo training.
By 2020 when Vietnam becomes an industrialized nation, it will have around 17 million rural workers. (Investment)
