Vinacomin to Build US$250M Deepwater Port for Coal, Aluminum Trade
The Vietnam National Coal Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) is planning to build a deepwater seaport with an estimated investment of US$250 million in central Binh Thuan province.
The Khe Ca seaport to be located in Ham Thuan Nam district is expected to serve coal import and aluminum export of bauxite projects in the central highlands provinces of Dak Nong and Lam Dong, and Binh Thuan, said the group.
The 315-ha port will be capable of handling ships up to 80,000 DWT.
Vinacomin is trying to complete the project's feasible study in the second quarter of this year and submit it to the Transport Ministry and the provincial government for final approval, said the group. (Investment)
